Your Accommodation
Some schools can offer you a choice of different kinds of accommodations.
Homestay Accommodation, the preferred option of most teachers, provides in most cases, a single room with breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday, and usually lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
Residential Accommodation is sometimes available - principally in university cities, in July & August. There are two categories, neither of them luxurious, being basically student accommodation.
Grade 1 | Individual study bedrooms with good facilities, such as bathroom shared between 2/3 rooms, TV room etc. |
Grade 2 | Clean, comfortable, individual (or in some cases shared) rooms with use of bathroom and some other facilities. |
Apart from the above, schools will provide addresses of hotels, B&Bs, etc. but will ask you to make your own bookings and to pay the hotel etc. directly (and usually in advance). Please remember that these establishments may be very much more expensive than similar places in your own country.
Every kind of accommodation is difficult to find in the months of July and August. Most residential accommodation for these summer months is fully booked as early as April. Additionally, many schools do not reserve the accommodation until your booking is fully confirmed, so you should pay a deposit as soon as you are sure that you are going to attend the course.
